This Saturday was the fourth round of the Johnson & Smith Winter League on the Bridge and Roadside stretches of the Fossdyke Navigation.
On the day most of the 17 competitors found bites at a premium with 13 of them failing to get a single bite. It was Lincoln angler John Small who took top honours off Peg 1 at the Bridge with just the one small perch to pole and pinkie in the last minute of the match for a match winning weight of 1 ½ oz.
In second place was Shane Spraggins off Peg 14 on the Roadside with 2 perch for 1oz to pole and red worm.
Alan Houlton framed in third place with 3 small perch off Roadside Peg 7 for ¾ oz also to red worm.
League after four rounds: Dave Ashmoor 19 points, Dave Hiley, John Small and Shane Spraggins all on 18 points, John Barningham 17 points.
