LINCOLN AND DISTRICT AA JOHNSON AND SMITH WINTER LEAGUE 2022 ROUND ONE OF SIX

The first round of the Johnson and Smith Winter League was held Sat 8 Jan.  The 17 competitors found the canal in a dour mood with seven of the anglers not getting a bite.

Once again, it was the Bridge section that dominated the result with Dave Ashmoor (Grimsby) who took the honours off Bridge Peg 2.  Dave fished groundbait and pinkie at 10 metres and caster at 13 metres for a mainly roach net to finish with 4lb 2oz.

Runner up was Dave Hiley (Mansfield) off Bridge Peg 5 with 3lb 4oz of roach to groundbait and pinkie at 6 metres. Third place was taken by Malc Firmstone (Lincoln), Bridge Peg 4, weighing in 2lb 14oz of roach to bread punch at 6 metres and groundbait and pinkie at 11 metres.

League entry £65-00, to be paid on first match (this includes £5-00 knock-out monies), pools per match £21-00.

Five results count out of the six league matches, all matches to be on the roadside stretches of Fossdyke Canal.  Pike-Zander/Bloodworm-Joker banned.
