Vigilance required – illegal rigs!
Please keep an eye open for anything that resembles one of these, an illegal floating rig. These are used to catch a large pike and consists of a bottle, line, weight and hook attached – this one was baited with a dead roach and in the margins on the Fossdyke at Drinsey Nook. Note the use of an old bottle, used in the hope of you not suspecting anything suspicious!
Intention of the owner was to snare a Pike and return (often when dark) with grapple hook to retrieve in the hope of finding a prize. This was noticed by our very own LDAA bailiff, Jamie. Big thumbs up emoji to Jamie.
