Well it's that time of year again, when coarse fishing on our River and Canal stretches are closed for three months. Starting from 15 March - 15 June inclusive, fishing must cease.

This law is to protect fish and their eggs during typical spawning times. You may be unaware but during this period, millions of eggs are developing and hatching which is why it is imperative that the river beds are left undisturbed. We support this law which is enforced by the Environment Agency and the Lincolnshire Police Rural Crime Action Team. Anybody who is found to be breaking these rules will have action taken against them.

As such, please do not fish these following waters until 16 June 2023:

However, all isn't lost as stillwaters remain open, therefore you are allowed to fish the following LDAA venues:

Nonetheless, the fish that reside in these locations aren't exempt from spawning and the LDAA reserves the right to temporarily close these venues with short notice once there is evidence that fish are spawning. We impose this closure for the welfare of our fish stock.

We look forward to seeing you on the river banks again from 16 June 2023.
