Today, 24 September 2023, the LDAA was in attendance at the Saxilby Waterfront Festival after being invited back by Saxilby Parish Council

Kev Hutchinson from the Lincolnshire Junior Angling Academy, Kev Harrison (LDAA Chairman) and Marcus Langmaid (LDAA Secretary) were offering short sessions on whips and the waggler. We were also delighted to be joined by the very knowledgeable and experienced duo of Daron Smith and Sanjay Smith who were on hand to show participants the art of lure fishing with small lures. Our very own Julie (LDAA Community Liaison Officer) and Alex (LDAA Treasurer) were greeting the many attendees that turned up to our stall wanting to learn more about angling. It was amazing to see so much intrigue and interest around angling and especially the enthusiasm shown by the youngsters who hopefully will take up this sport that we all love.

Fish were in abundance today, with Perch, Roach, Rudd, Dace, Skimmers, Hybrids and the one Eel being caught throughout the day.

A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that represented the LDAA today alongside Steph Hinch at Sunny’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shop who kept us all well fed with some mouth-watering food and hydrated.

A special mention goes to Councillor Elizabeth Hillman and her team of dedicated volunteers for inviting us back and for putting on a great event.

A quick reminder, if you were at the event today and would like to take your interest in angling further, please head over to the Lincolnshire Junior Angling Academy website to enquire and learn more.
