The LDAA have been working in liaison with the Environment Agency and the Park Rangers at Hartsholme Park during the recent Blue Green Algae bloom that has arisen at Blue Lagoon and Hartsholme Park.
We took the proactive steps to cease fishing at these venues to potentially stop the death of fish stocks, prevent the spread of any diseases and to protect the health and wellbeing of anglers. We preferred this course of action rather than being reactive.
As such, with the advice of the Environment Agency, the Blue Lagoon is now reopen for members to fish again.
With that being said, Hartsholme Park will remain shut for the time being after advice from the Park Rangers at Hartsholme Park.
