This Saturday saw Lincoln and District Angling Association host the penultimate match in a six match series of The Johnson and Smith Winter league 24.

 

On the day the competitors found the canal back in the tins after been well over the previous day, but was still carrying a lot of colour. Most of the anglers taking part struggled for bites all day, with top man being Neil Fletcher (Newark) off peg 2 at the Bridge. Neil fished groundbait and pinkie at 4 and 11 metres for a mainly roach net of 4lb 6oz. Runner up was Lincoln's Steve Gilbert off peg 4 again at the Bridge with 3lb 15oz of roach to groundbait and pinkie fished at 8 metres. John Small(Lincoln) took third spot off peg 10 on the roadside with 2lb 13oz again to groundbait and pinkie fished at 14 metres.

 

Section winners; A. Section Paul Johnson 2lb 9oz. B.Section John Small 2lb 13oz

 

League after five rounds; John Small's section win gave him an unassailable lead on 35 point's from Dave Ashmoor, Rob Thorley, Paul Cannon and Neil Fletcher all on 28 points with one match remaining.
