Lincoln and District Angling Association hosted an Open Match this Saturday 4th March on the Fossdyke Navigational at Saxilby.
On the day, the twelve competitors found the Canal in good order with a tinge of colour but with a cold easterly wind pushing down the canal.
Once again, as in the last few weeks, the Bridge section dominated the result sheet with Lincoln's Paul Wilson taking top spot off Peg 1 with a mixed net of 8lb 12oz to the pole fished at 14 metres with worm and caster.
Runner up was Neil Bell off Peg 6 with 5lb 7oz which included a bream of 4lb+ on worm long, and a few bits to groundbait and pinkie.
Gav Butler demonstrated that he’s not just a Trent angler, taking third place with a mainly roach net of 4lb 14oz groundbait and pinkie at 8 and 11 metres.
Special mention to Match Organiser John Blades and thanks to Rylan Neal in his capacity of match supervisor.
