On Sunday 30 July 2023, the Woodcocks stretch of the Fossdyke Canal played host for the first installment of the 2023 LDAA Members’ Only match series.
The day started with participating anglers meeting at the newly established Sunny’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, opposite the Sun Inn pub in Saxilby, for a lovely breakfast and the peg draw.
A total of 12 anglers were in attendance on a mainly sunny day, which included young angler, Will Bond from the Lincolnshire Junior Angling Academy making his debut at an LDAA Members’ Only match and he certainly gave some experienced anglers a run for their money.
While the angling was challenging for large spells, the three anglers who weighed-in the top 3 saw bonus fish added to their tally.
A big well done to all competing anglers but especially to those who finished in the top 3.
