This Saturday saw Lincoln and District Angling Association host The Frank Butler Memorial Match 23. This match was originally to be fished last year but was cancelled due to the flooding we had late last year.

The match on the day was fished in good conditions, but the canal was still carrying a lot of colour from the recent rain.

Once again it was the Bridge section that produced the winner in the shape of Dave Ashmoor(Grimsby) with 7lb 6oz of mainly roach, to groundbait and pinkie fished at 6metres off peg 2 at the Bridge.

There was a tie for second place between Paul Wilson and and Ryan Neal (both Lincoln). Paul fished groundbait and pinkie at 8 and 11 metres off peg 6 on the Roadside for a mainly roach net, with Ryan fishing off peg 5 at the Bridge where he fished short with pinkie and worm for a mixed net of roach and two decent perch. Both anglers finishing with 5lb10oz.

Section winners were A. Section Rob Thorley 4lb 12oz. B.Section John Small 5lb 61/2oz. C. Section Andrew Fletcher 3lb 15oz.
