Saturday 11 November 2023 saw the first round of the Whisby Angling Supplies Saturday Fossdyke League 2023, after numerous cancellations due to the Fossdyke Navigation being flooded, it was time for the long-awaited league to begin.
On the the day, 27 competiting anglers found the canal in good colour and favourable conditions most were anticipating a good day's sport, but the canal was in a very dour mood and most found bites hard to come by.
It was the popular Bridge section which dominated the result with the top four places coming from the stretch, with Craig Butterfield taking top honours off peg 2 at the Bridge with a hard worked 4lb14oz of mainly small roach to groundbait and pinkie from various areas of his peg. Not far behind in second place was Paul Wilson (Lincoln) who also scratched around for bites with worm and pinkie to finish with 4lb 11oz. In third place was the consistent Dave Hiley (Mansfield Woodhouse) at the Bridge with 3lb 5oz with Andy Rodziewicz (Lincoln) finishing in forth spot with 1lb 11oz.

- B Section: Paul Johnson 8 1/2 oz.
- C Section: Ryan Neal and Keith Clifton both 8oz.
- D Section: Dave Ashmoor 10 1/2oz.
