Lincoln and District Angling Association hosted the penultimate match of The Whisby Angling Supplies Saturday League 2023 on Saturday 2 December. After recent results the 21 competitors were a bit apprehensive on how the day would turn out, but overall considering the conditions which was a tad on the cold side it fished reasonably well.
For the first time in the League the winner did not come from the Bridge section with peg 5 on the Roadside taking the winner’s purse. It was Dale Whelan (Lincoln) who drew the noted peg where he fished groundbait and pinkie at 13 meters for a roach winning net of 9lb to keep his league hopes alive.
Runner up on the day was Lincoln Match Group angler John Small of peg 6 at the Bridge with 7lb 12oz of mainly roach to groundbait and pinkie at 5 and 13 meters.
Dave Ashmoor (Grimsby) taking an important third place of peg 4 at the Bridge with 6lb 12oz to the whip with maggot at 10 meters.
